I've dabbled with essential oils a little in my teenage years. They were just coming up in popularity back in those days. I knew nothing about grade or purity but it was the "in" thing, so I did it. My latest "thing" was 2 years back where I bought cheap essential oils online for soap making. It was just as well that they were cheap as I later found out that the soap making process destroys/alters the beneficial properties of the essential oils. So they were literally just used for their fragrances and nothing more.
I attended a workshop conducted by a friend in late May this year. I had no intention of signing up. MLM companies tend to put me off a little. But there was no pressure to join as a member nor pressure to do the business part of it. Young Living, yes. But I've never even heard of doTerra prior to this workshop. I decided at the end of the workshop, to sign up with the cheapest enrollment kit, the Essential Collection and Smart & Sassy Kit. It came with 10 bottles of "essentials" (hence the name Essential Collection) oils to have in the home. 4 of them are blends while the remaining 6 are single oils.
I was actually amazed by how many things we can do with the oils. Diffusing, making rollers, spritzers, using them for aromatic dressing, making DIY cleaning products to reduce the toxic load and even natural removal of warts and moles. The list is endless. Now, I'm working on increasing my collection.
